Orbital Transportation Conference Call

15 December 2020 | 18:00

Good morning EUROAVIAn,
the time to reveal our fifth and final online conference for this semester has finally come! This time we will hold a Conference Call on Orbital Transportation in collaboration with D-Orbit.

The conference will be a behind the scenes talk about the first orbital transportation mission of ION Satellite Carrier, a satellite dispenser developed and operated by D-Orbit. ION Satellite Carrier can host a batch of CubeSats or microsats with a total volume up to 64U or 160kg of mass and release them individually into distinct orbital slots, enabling deployment schemes previously unavailable to spacecraft with no independent propulsion.

The speaker, Marco Bevilacqua, aerospace and systems engineer at D-Orbit, will talk about his experience from both a personal and a technical point of view, and share the most unexpected sides and challenges of a space mission.

D-Orbit is a New Space company with solutions covering the entire lifecycle of a space mission, including mission analysis and design, engineering, manufacturing, integration, testing, launch, mission control, and end-of-life decommissioning. Committed to pursuing business models that are profitable, friendly for the environment, and socially beneficial, D-Orbit is the first certified B-Corp space company in the world. Headquartered in Como, Italy, D-Orbit has subsidiaries in Lisbon, Portugal, Harwell, UK, and Washington DC, USA.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, the 15th of December, at 18:00 CET via Microsoft Teams.
